Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Shakea “Kea” Roper. I’m a licensed clinical social worker who shows up with honesty, compassion, and a steady, judgment-free presence. I work with adults who are overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, or carrying more than they admit out loud.

My background includes over a decade of experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, trauma symptoms, relationship or family stress, life transitions, and burnout. I specialize in helping highly responsible people, caregivers, parents, and professionals who feel like they’re juggling too much.

I’m licensed in Kansas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Utah, and North Dakota and provide virtual sessions that meet you where you are. My goal is simple: real conversations, real support, and real progress.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I’m not a “just nod and smile” therapist — I’m active in the process with you. I use evidence-based approaches including CBT, Solution-Focused therapy, Strengths-Based techniques, Brief Therapy, DBT-informed skills, Problem Solving, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.

Together we explore your thoughts, patterns, and stressors, then build practical coping tools you can use in everyday life. I help you challenge unhelpful thinking, gain clarity, and make changes that support your emotional, mental, and day-to-day functioning. You bring the real-life situations; we work through them openly and honestly.

What you can expect from me

You can expect a calm, supportive space where you can be completely yourself. The first session is focused on understanding what’s going on in your life, what you’ve been carrying, and what you want to change or feel differently about.

There’s no pressure and no script — you set the pace. We’ll talk through your concerns, your goals, and what support looks like for you. Whether you need problem-solving, emotional processing, or simply someone who truly listens, I’ll meet you where you are. My aim is for you to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and clear on our next steps together.
