Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Shalin Candelaria, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I have a background working with individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults.

I have an advanced training in counseling and am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Research. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices and a strong commitment to supporting each client’s unique needs.

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, relational challenges, and trauma. I am passionate about helping clients build insight, develop coping strategies, and move toward meaningful change.

I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to explore your experiences and reach your personal goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and tailored to your individual needs. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and experiences.

I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care to help you understand patterns, build coping skills, and work through challenges like anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship concerns.

My goal is to support you in gaining insight, developing effective strategies, and feeling empowered to create meaningful change in your life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we begin getting to know each other. I will ask questions to better understand your concerns, background, and what brings you to therapy, while also giving you space to share at your own pace.

We will discuss your goals for therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. Together, we will begin to identify areas of focus and outline a plan that feels comfortable and meaningful to you.

My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and supported, with a clearer sense of direction for our work together.
