Shamni Uthayasoorian

My name is Shamni Uthayasoorian, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I graduated with Masters of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Over the past five years (2019-2024), I've had the privilege of working as a therapist in diverse settings, including inpatient, residential, and group home programs.

As a dedicated therapist with a focus on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), I specialize in providing compassionate support and evidence-based interventions rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I draw from multicultural, humanistic, and person-centered approaches to ensure a personalized and holistic therapeutic experience.
