Great to meet you!

I am Dr. Shana Cook-Peek, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of nursing experience. Working in environments such as the emergency department and outpatient community mental health has proven to me that my experiences are a source of motivation for change and to show up for my community. Self-awareness and perseverance combine to strengthen my empathy, compassion, and understanding as a mental health provider.

If you are experiencing anxiety, depression, a chronic illness impacting your mental health, insomnia, or in the beginning stages of trying to figure things out, you are my ideal client.

My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care is collaborative and client-centered. Using active listening and tailoring my approach to meet the needs of each client is my priority. I want to know what you are looking to accomplish or over-come.

Providing individualized care with evidence-based practices is key to making meaningful change for YOU.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a meaningful discussion to explore your concerns and also receive a comprehensive mental health assessment.

You can expect a safe, non-judgmental environment using clear communication and collaboration to prioritize full understanding of your options; such as medication management, brief supportive psychotherapy, or referrals, and or recommendations.

This initial step sets the foundation for our therapeutic relationship and your path to improving your mental wellness.
