Great to meet you!

Whether you are carrying the weight of trauma, feeling worn down by anxiety or depression, or working through a painful loss or a strained relationship, you deserve a space where you feel understood and genuinely supported. I am Shanda, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 28 years of experience walking alongside adults, couples, and families through life's hardest seasons. My style is open-minded, empowering, and solution-oriented. I will meet you with warmth and without judgment, and I focus on real, practical steps forward. When you are ready, I would be honored to see if we are a good fit.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and solution-oriented. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you understand your thoughts and feelings and respond to them in new ways, and I use a strengths-based, motivational style that builds on what is already working in your life. For couples, I incorporate the Gottman Method to strengthen connection and communication. Rather than dwelling only on the problem, we will set clear goals and focus on practical tools you can use right away, so you leave sessions feeling more capable and hopeful.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is simply a chance to get to know each other, and you do not need to have everything figured out beforehand. We'll talk about what brought you in, what feels most pressing, and what you are hoping for, and I'll answer any questions you have about how therapy works. From there, we'll begin shaping a plan built around your goals. My hope is that you leave that first conversation feeling heard, understood, and more hopeful about the road ahead.
