Great to meet you!

  • I’m in your corner. I’m not here to judge, fix, or control. I’m here to understand, challenge when needed, and help you grow.
  • I will tell the truth. Kindly, clearly, and without fluff. Progress requires honesty.
  • I value structure and clarity. We will set goals. We will measure movement. We won’t just “vent and vibe.”
  • I integrate evidence-based approaches. I lean heavily on CBT and Motivational Interviewing, with EMDR techniques when appropriate. Therapy with me is practical and action-oriented.
  • I respect faith. If spirituality matters to you, we can thoughtfully integrate it. If not, we won’t force it.
  • I believe people are more resilient than they think. My job is to help you access what’s already there.
  • I hold both accountability and compassion. Growth happens in that tension.
  • I’m human. I don’t claim perfection. I show up present, prepared, and fully invested in your development.

My approach to therapy

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact. We will identify patterns, challenge what isn’t serving you, and build practical strategies that create forward movement. When appropriate, I integrate EMDR techniques to address unresolved trauma and stuck emotional responses.

What you can expect from me

You can expect the first session to be structured, clear, and collaborative.

1. Orientation to the Process

We’ll review confidentiality, boundaries, and how therapy works so there are no gray areas. I want you to know exactly what they’re stepping into.

2. Understanding the Why

I’ll ask what brought you in, what feels urgent, and what you hope will change. We’ll identify pain points, patterns, and initial goals.

3. Big-Picture Assessment

We’ll explore relevant history (mental health, relationships, work, family, stressors) to understand context. I’m looking for patterns, not just isolated symptoms.

4. Early Direction

Before the session ends, we’ll begin shaping a roadmap:

  • Clear goals
  • Initial insights
  • Possible tools or homework (if appropriate)

5. Tone and Pace

Clients can expect:

  • Direct but respectful communication
  • Practical next steps
  • Accountability paired with compassion
  • Zero judgment
