Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Shani. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience supporting adolescents and adults through anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and periods of overwhelming stress. My background includes crisis intervention, community mental health, hospital-based care, and outpatient therapy, which has given me experience helping people navigate some of life's most difficult moments. I believe therapy should be a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each person's unique needs. I draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care to help clients build coping skills, gain insight, and work toward their goals. I believe therapy works best when we work together as a team, focusing on both your strengths and the challenges you'd like to overcome.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable therapeutic relationship. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're facing, your personal strengths, and what you hope to achieve through treatment. My goal is to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace and leave with a clearer understanding of how we can move forward together.
