Great to meet you!

Hi there, my name is Shanice and I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Georgia. I have a passion for helping to guide clients towards a better version of themselves. Life is full of complex challenges, my goal as a therapist is to lighten the load with genuiness and skill. My clinical experience includes veterans, women's issues, men's issues, leadership, oncology, and grief. I am also a breast cancer survivor; intertwining my professional and personal life experiences educate and advocate for those in active treatment as well as survivorship.

My approach to therapy

While I understand that checklists matter, my focus and perspective is much more individualized. I understand that we are all different and have different needs. I believe that our past impacts our future (psychodynamic) and the things we refuse to acknowledge will keep coming back up if we fail to address them. I believe in cognitive therapy, helping you to focus on ways that your thinking impacts your behavior. I am an active listener, using open ended questions to help therapeutically challenge and build skills that will help you cope.

What you can expect from me

Very down to earth, honest, solution focused. I know my strengths and my limitations so in order to get you the best care, I am open to making referrals if I cannot meet your needs. Your best interest is my top priority. This is a collaboration, my degree does not supercede your life experience. I am human, I ask a lot of questions due to my curious nature not to judge you, but to understand your why.
