Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over a decade of experience in the mental health field, working with individuals, adolescents, and families across a range of settings. My background includes work in community mental health, child welfare, family systems, and private practice, which allows me to approach therapy with both clinical depth and real-world understanding.

My style is warm, collaborative, and very straightforward. I believe therapy works best when there is honesty, transparency, and clear communication, and clients often share that they appreciate having a therapist who is direct while still being supportive and compassionate. I do not believe in “talking around” issues; instead, I aim to help clients gain insight, name patterns, and develop practical tools that support meaningful change.

I take a person-centered, culturally responsive approach to therapy, honoring each client’s lived experience, values, and identity. My work integrates emotional processing with practical coping strategies and gentle accountability. Therapy with me is conversational yet intentional, offering space for reflection while also focusing on progress and growth.

I primarily support clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, family stressors, relationship challenges, and emotional regulation. I work best with clients who are open to self-exploration, value consistency, and are ready to engage actively in the therapeutic process.

I provide services exclusively through scheduled telehealth sessions and strive to create a space that feels emotionally safe, respectful, and affirming. My goal is to partner with clients in a way that feels grounded, honest, and supportive as they work toward greater emotional clarity and well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is person-centered, culturally responsive, and grounded in honesty and collaboration. I believe therapy should feel supportive and affirming, while also being real, transparent, and purposeful. I work to create a space where clients feel emotionally safe to show up as they are, while also being gently challenged to grow and gain insight.

I view therapy as a partnership. Sessions are conversational yet intentional, blending emotional processing with practical tools and strategies that clients can apply in their everyday lives. I do not believe in talking around issues; instead, I help clients identify patterns, name what is happening beneath the surface, and develop healthier ways of coping and responding.

My work integrates evidence-based practices with a holistic understanding of each client’s lived experience, identity, and values. I emphasize consistency, self-awareness, and accountability, recognizing that meaningful change happens over time through trust, reflection, and active engagement in the therapeutic process.

Overall, my goal is to support clients in building clarity, emotional resilience, and sustainable growth in a way that feels respectful, empowering, and aligned with who they are.

What you can expect from me

The first session is focused on getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and creating a foundation for our work together. We will talk about your current concerns, relevant history, and what you are hoping to gain from therapy. This session is conversational and collaborative, allowing space for you to share at your own pace while also beginning to identify goals and areas of focus.

I am transparent and straightforward in my communication, so you can expect clear questions, honest feedback, and an open dialogue from the start. I will also explain how therapy works in my practice, review expectations around scheduling and engagement, and answer any questions you may have so there are no surprises.

While the first session is primarily about assessment and rapport-building, it is also an opportunity to begin gaining insight and clarity. Many clients leave the initial session feeling heard, grounded, and more informed about next steps. By the end of the session, we will have a shared understanding of how we can move forward together and whether my approach feels like a good fit for your needs.
