Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and completed my Master's at ASU in 2009. I have worked in a community mental health agency, in a hospital setting doing crisis evaluations, and now I am at a cozy private practice in Chandler, AZ called Love Story Therapy. I am inclusive therapist and am open to working with anyone, regardless of background. I have a special heart for working with men dealing with midlife issues, partner relational issues and societal stressors/pressures of daily life. I also embrace and love working with the queer community and consider myself to be an ally and advocate. I am a mother of two boys and love working with moms around the emotional and mental strain of parenting, whether you're recently post-partum or have older kids.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy from a Brief Solution Focused framework, with a heavy dose of strength-based, supportive counseling mixed in. If you don't really know why you're going to therapy and just want someone to poke around in every unhappy memory and come up with years of issues to work on, I'm probably not the therapist for you. I tend to be present-focused and want to know what's getting in the way of you living your best life today so we can work together to find actionable solutions so you can start living a happier tomorrow. I tend to be blunt and use a lot of humor in my approach (in therapy and in life), and I can get along with just about anyone who comes at the world with kindness and respect. I see a lot of clients dealing with depression, anxiety, life/state of the world stress and relational issues in my practice, and it's my belief that we're all just "normal people with normal problems" doing the best we can. If this sounds like something that you relate to, please reach out.

What you can expect from me

In our first session I will spend time getting to know you, including a brief history of pertinent background information as well as a more in depth idea of what's bringing you into therapy at this time in your life. We will discuss your treatment goals and in the first or second session we'll create a treatment plan to guide the work we do moving forward.
