Great to meet you!

I am a dual board-certified psychiatric and geriatric nurse practitioner with over 25 years of healthcare experience, providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to young adults, adults, and older adults. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, insomnia, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, and behavioral or psychological symptoms associated with dementia and complex medical conditions.

My experience spans hospital care, rehabilitation, hospice, and long-term care settings, giving me a deep understanding of the connection between physical and mental health. I am especially comfortable supporting individuals with multiple medical concerns or those navigating life transitions related to aging, illness, or stress.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. I take time to listen carefully, educate patients about their treatment options, and create thoughtful medication plans that align with each person’s goals, lifestyle, and overall health. I believe mental health care should treat the whole person not just symptoms.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is a relaxed, supportive conversation focused on understanding you as a whole person — not just your symptoms. We’ll talk about what brought you in, how you’ve been feeling, and what you hope to gain from treatment.

I’ll ask about your emotional health, sleep, stress levels, medical history, and any past experiences with counseling or medications. This helps me see the full picture and understand how different parts of your health and life may be connected.

If medication is part of your care, we’ll discuss options together, including potential benefits, side effects, and alternatives. My goal is to make sure you feel informed and comfortable with every decision we make.

We’ll also talk about practical next steps — whether that includes follow-up visits, therapy referrals, lifestyle supports, or coordination with your other healthcare providers.

Most importantly, this visit is a chance for you to ask questions and decide whether I’m a good fit for your needs.
