Great to meet you!

Hi there! My name is Shannon Goyette, LICSW, and I am passionate about creating a therapeutic space where you feel genuinely seen, supported, and accepted exactly where you are. My approach is warm and collaborative, creating space for you to slow down, process your experiences, and make meaningful, sustainable change. I value authenticity, curiosity, and self-compassion, and I strive to help you build a healthier relationship with yourself without shame or pressure.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work, with advanced training in grief and loss, mindfulness based stress reduction, trauma, and somatic therapy. I provide mental health therapy to adults (18+) throughout Massachusetts who may be navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, substance use, burnout and boundaries, self-esteem challenges, or relationship stress. Whether you are feeling stuck, disconnected from yourself, or exhausted from carrying too much for too long, therapy can offer a space to reconnect with your strengths and create a more balanced and fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic process is compassionate and personalized, focusing on the whole person—not just symptoms. I draw from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), somatic techniques, and person-centered therapy. I believe therapy should feel both supportive and practical—helping you better understand yourself while also developing tools you can use in everyday life. Together, we can work toward greater emotional well-being, stronger self-trust, and a life that feels more aligned with your values.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin creating a space where you feel comfortable being your authentic self. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the process. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns, strengths, and areas you’d like to work on.

My goal is to create a warm, judgment-free, and collaborative environment where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported. By the end of our first session, we’ll have a better understanding of what you need and begin developing goals and a path forward that feels meaningful and realistic for you
