Great to meet you!

My name is Shannon Hansen, MS, LMFT. I work with adult individuals, couples, and a variety of relational dynamics, offering a warm, compassionate yet unconventional therapy environment. In addition to teletherapy, I offer equine assisted psychotherapy and nature-based therapy for those who are wanting a more engaging therapeutic experience. I love offering a safe space to metaphorically, and literally, get messy in the deep dive of gaining a better understanding of the human experience. With the support of myself, the animals, and many other beings of the natural world, together we will dive in and emerge with the resources and understanding that will help you thrive in life and relationships.

My approach to therapy

At the heart of my approach is the belief that healing happens through awareness, presence, and authentic connection—with ourselves, others, and the natural world. Blending the experiential depth of Gestalt Therapy with the powerful, intuitive presence of horses through Equine-Assisted Therapy, I help clients access insight not just intellectually, but emotionally and somatically. Whether you’re working through personal pain or relationship patterns, I create immersive, nature-connected experiences that promote growth, clarity, and healing.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I will introduce you to the land and animals who will support you in our work together, while spending time getting to know you and what you hope to accomplish on this therapeutic journey. In services with me, you can expect warmth, humor, transparency, creative solutions, empathy, authenticity, encouragement, and accountability.
