Great to meet you!

Congratulations on taking this step in your journey toward healing and well-being! My name is Shannon (pronouns: she/they), and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York, the US Virgin Islands, and Iowa. I have spent the last 15 years working with individuals & families, high-needs young adults, alternative learners, people experiencing incarceration, medical professionals, new parents and care-givers, and a wide array of individuals during various life stages and changes. I have extensive experience treating trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression, as well as gender-affirming and sex-positive treatment.

My approach to therapy

As an LCSW I have a laid-back and supportive style, leading with trauma-informed care and an anti-oppressive framework allowing me to focus on genuine respect, dignity, understanding, and professionalism. I view clients as the expert in their own lives, and tailor treatment according to individual needs, allowing us to build a collaborative relationship.

What you can expect from me

I would hope that clients will walk away from sessions feeling supported and cared for, but also with growing self-understanding and self-love, a well-rounded perspective of the human experience, and the tools to navigate challenges.
