Great to meet you!

I'm Shannon.

In addition to being a Licensed Mental Health Provider (LMFT), I am also a Nationally Certified Professional Mediator (NCPM), Family Law Mediation CME, Certified Specialist In Anger Management (CSAM), Certified Narcissistic Abuse Treatment Clinician (NATC), and a Parent Plan Coordinator/Special Master.

At this time, our clinicians do not provide EMDR or ADHD-specific assessment or treatment. EMDR and ADHD requires specialized training and interventions. Please connect with a qualified specialist to ensure the most appropriate care.

I have over 14 years of experience working with children, adolescents, teens, individuals, couples, and families from culturally diverse populations on a wide range of issues and concerns..

I am licensed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, and Texas.

At this time, I only provide services virtually through a secure telehealth system.

Four things I want you to know before you begin therapy with me:

1. I want treatment to work just as much as you do.

2. I am not judging you, and need to hear all of your truth(s) in order to best support you. You can't heal what you won't reveal.

3. I will not fight you for your healing.

What that means is: I will not work harder than you do. However, I will be right there beside you as we navigate your Mental Health journey together.

4. If you don't connect with me, that's okay. Don't be afraid to try someone new, and keep trying until you find the right fit.

I enjoy working with anyone who is eager to improve their overall mental health, and is ready to learn the tools needed to make this goal a reality.

I look forward to working with you!

My approach to therapy

My approach is eclectic and collaborative:

Eclectic therapy is an integrative approach to psychotherapy that aims to discover and implement the most effective treatment for each individual. Instead of following a predefined methodical structure, eclectic therapy pulls from various therapy techniques to treat each person as unique individuals.

I believe that by working together, a positive outcome is achievable. I provide a warm, open, non-judgmental environment where one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are explored and discussed in an objective, respectful, empathetic manner.

I strive to create a comfortable environment where you feel safe to be your true self. I'm here as trusted partner that you can confide in, but also as someone who will challenge you and help you grow.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work though in follow-up sessions.

It is my belief that once an individual understands the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, they will then be able to modify or change their pattern(s) of thinking to cope with stressors in a positive manner.

Please Note:

Insurance typically covers one session per week, regardless of the session length. If you schedule more than one appointment on the same day or in the same week using insurance, the session may not be covered and will be your financial responsibility. If you would like to proceed with booking more than one appointment on the same day or in the same week, please contact the office to receive the self pay rates.
