Great to meet you!

Hi there, I'm Dr. Shannon Lynch! A little about me: I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, I received my doctorate from Alliant International University, and I specialize in working with ADHD, relational issues, women's issues, identity, and LGBTQ+ issues.

But, outside of being a therapist I am just another person. I enjoy spending time baking, reading, traveling, and cuddling with my kitty, Blu.

If you want to know more about me, feel free to check out my website: lifehappenscounseling.com, or schedule a free 15-minute consultation here. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have!

My approach to therapy

You know more about you than I ever will, and therefore I believe that you are the expert when it comes to you. I mainly work through the lens of Contextual Therapy, meaning I focus on the relational aspects of life, aiming to help in establishing fair boundaries and finding balance in relationships while accessing inner strengths. This type of therapy sees all relationships as a balance of give and take and has a focus on the concepts of trust and safety within relationships.

What you can expect from me

My therapy style is warm and welcoming. I know that therapy can feel daunting and sharing your true self with a stranger can seem, well, strange. I aim to make you feel safe and heard, while throwing in some light humor. Therapy is, at its core, a relationship, and that relationship should be built on trust, support, and validation. Though therapy can sometimes leave you with yucky feelings, it's important to me that you always feel comfortable and empowered to be your best self.
