Great to meet you!

People seek therapy for many reasons: to develop skills and resources, to process and unpack and to receive support with navigating life transitions and challenges. My role is to support you in such goals and whatever else you may be carrying. I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process and I trust that you ultimately have the answers. Let's look past the 'good/bad' and explore what brings meaning to your life, the challenging parts, and how to navigate it effectively.

My approach to therapy

Focus areas of my work include trauma recovery, work with neurodivergent folks and the LGBTQIA community. I am queer-identified and aligned and am experienced with providing gender-affirming counseling and consult to transgender and gender diverse folks. I affirm that there is no 'one size fits all' model of therapy and am trained in EMDR, mind/body work as well as other evidenced-based treatments. For interested folks there is also potential for animal-assisted therapeutic interventions (dogs!)

What you can expect from me

My focus in our sessions is to build rapport and trust, to encourage self-compassion, to hold space for your needs in our time together, and for you to leave the session with new awareness /perspective. What you can expect from me is active and present listening, compassion, humor and flexibility. Therapists make mistakes and screw up (I've been on the receiving end!); please know that in our work YOU are the expert of your life and I welcome feedback and perspective from the clients I work with
