Great to meet you!

I’m Shannon and I always wanted to be a therapist so I became a licensed professional counselor many years ago. I currently have 17 years of experience providing therapy to various populations as a licensed professional counselor. My clinical experience includes work with children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. I love my job and enjoy helping people to feel better emotionally and to improve their lives. Please reach out...I want to help you to have the best quality of life possible!

My approach to therapy

My approach is strengths-based and client-centered. I utilize cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic approaches to therapy. I am also trained in EMDR which is an evidenced-based practice that has been shown to be quite effective in significantly reducing anxiety and coping with trauma. Many of my clients have seen rapid improvement and great results with EMDR when we have used it for both trauma and anxiety. I highly recommend it to my clients if they struggle with either of these issues.

What you can expect from me

I try to create an environment that is warm and supportive, so you can feel comfortable discussing topics that can sometimes be difficult to discuss. I allow you to decide what issues are most important to you and what would like to work on and I help support you as you work toward your goals. We also usually create treatment goals in the early sessions to be able to track your progress toward your goals.
