Great to meet you!
Shannon Scott, LCSW, provides a compassionate and non-judgmental space for individuals across New York to explore their emotions, thoughts, and challenges. She tailors her therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of her clients, whether they are facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or navigating life transitions. With a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California and extensive experience working with diverse populations, Shannon is passionate about supporting individuals through a collaborative and personalized process, ensuring they feel safe and understood throughout their therapeutic journey. Shannon specializes in helping those with anxiety, depression, and substance use issues, as well as addressing childhood behavioral concerns and trauma. Her deep commitment to these areas allows her to make a significant impact on clients who struggle with emotional regulation, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She also supports clients through life transitions, including postpartum depression and gender identity exploration, ensuring everyone she works with feels validated and empowered. In addition to individual therapy, Shannon offers family and group therapy, focusing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She integrates these evidence-based practices to help clients develop healthier coping mechanisms and build resilience. Her work with families includes providing parenting skills and strategies to improve communication and strengthen family bonds. Shannon has a particular passion for working with populations such as the LGBTQ+ community, military veterans, and individuals with developmental disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. Her inclusive approach ensures that each person receives care respectful of their identity and experiences
