Great to meet you!

I'm Shannon White, LCSW-S, an Integrative Mental Health Therapist with more than 23 years of experience. Much of my work centers women who are used to being the ones others depend on. They may be leading at work, caring for their families, building something of their own, or simply carrying more than most people realize.

From the outside, they often appear to be doing well. Inside, they know something has shifted.

I also work with men who find themselves in a similar place and are ready to better understand how stress, responsibility, and the demands of life are affecting them.

My work is grounded in evidence-based mental health care, whole-person wellness, and Christian principles. I believe good therapy should make room for the whole person and go deeper than simply helping you function better. I won't rush you toward resolution, and I won't mistake your composure for wellness. My style is rigorous clinically and gentle personally — because healing deserves both.

My approach to therapy

I want to understand what life has been like for you, not just what symptoms brought you to therapy. We may talk about anxiety or chronic stress, but we'll also pay attention to what has been happening underneath it. Sometimes that means looking at the pressure you've placed on yourself, the roles you've taken on, or how long you've been operating beyond your actual capacity.

This is especially important in my work with women in leadership and women moving through midlife. There are seasons when the ways you've always managed life simply stop working the way they once did. I see therapy as a place to understand that shift rather than judge yourself for it.

My approach is integrative and clinically grounded, with attention to emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. When faith is important to you, Christian principles and Scripture can be a meaningful part of our work.

I'm also completing doctoral studies that allow me to continue building on what more than two decades of clinical work has taught me about women, chronic stress, and capacity.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about giving me an opportunity to get to know you and giving you an opportunity to decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you.

You don't need to come in with everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what life has felt like lately, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together.

I'll ask questions and help you begin connecting some of the dots, but there won't be pressure to unpack everything in one sitting. I want you to have room to tell your story at a pace that feels comfortable while we begin identifying where our work may need to go.
