Clients can expect their first session with me to feel welcoming, supportive, and centered on getting to know them as a whole person—not just their challenges. I take time to build rapport and create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can share at their own pace.
During this initial meeting, we’ll explore what brings you in, but we’ll also spend time identifying your strengths, past successes, and the coping strategies you’ve already used. I believe it’s just as important to understand what’s working as it is to understand what’s difficult.
You can also expect a collaborative approach. We’ll begin to clarify your goals and what you hope to gain from our work together, while I gently encourage reflection on patterns, choices, and experiences that may be shaping your current situation.
Most importantly, you can expect to leave the session feeling heard, respected, and with a sense of direction, knowing that growth is possible and that you don’t have to navigate it alone.
