Great to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Shanti Sanchez, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Francisco Bay Area. I offer mental health services to clients throughout the state of California via telehealth. I work with individuals 18 and older and specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and eating disorders, using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Family Based Treatment for Eating Disorders (FBT). My vocation is to help others and I am excited to offer my supportive services to you.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I take an eclectic approach to therapy, incorporating skills, techniques, and methods from multiple theories, and customize a client’s treatment based on their needs. I most frequently use Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, as both modalities permit me and the client to work collaboratively and track progress in the moment.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients can expect sessions with me to be collaborative. In partnership we will review their concerns, identify what they would like to achieve during the time we have together and explore what therapeutic skills or strategies they believe would help in reaching those goals. I meet my clients where they are at, emotionally and mentally, and facilitate treatment to go at their desired pace. Together, we will periodically check in with regard to progress and how much closer they are to meeting their desired goals.
