Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Shaqueen. If you’re new to therapy, it’s okay if you’re not sure where to start. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. My approach is grounded, compassionate, and focused on creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and truly heard.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Adelphi University, and part of the team at Remote Therapy New York. My work is shaped by years of experience in community mental health, child welfare, psychiatric care, and family systems, allowing me to meet clients where they are with care and thoughtfulness.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Sessions are collaborative and paced to feel supportive and practical, with an emphasis on understanding what you’re experiencing and building skills that feel meaningful in your day-to-day life. My goal is to support you as you move forward with greater clarity, balance, and confidence — one step at a time.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each individual. I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all way to heal, so I work with clients to understand their unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including CBT and mindfulness, while also offering a supportive space to talk things through at your pace. My focus is on helping you build practical coping skills, feel more resilient, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive space where we’ll focus on getting to know you and what’s been bringing you to therapy. We’ll talk through your concerns, your goals, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll take time to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and help you begin making sense of what you’re experiencing at a pace that feels comfortable. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and clearer about the next steps.
