Shari MORIN-DEGEL

As a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of counseling and non-profit leadership experience, I believe in the power of positive and helpful relationships for a full and satisfying life. Seeking out those relationships can be humbling and even scary, so congratulations on getting past the hardest part! My area of focus is first adults who are experiencing poor mental health due to burnout and compassion fatigue and secondly, adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety and recovery from traumatic events.

Research indicates that therapy is beneficial primarily because of the therapeutic relationship we will establish. Through psychology and neuroscience, we are learning that people are truly their best selves when they feel safe. I will be there to listen and validate, maybe sometimes gently challenge, but always be there to support you to achieve your goals.

Our first session will be your opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy. I will strive to create an environment that allows you to feel safe to be real and vulnerable, as well as confident to advocate for yourself. I will not withhold knowledge, rather; I will share valuable information and insights. Lastly, I will support you to realize your goals by implementing the solutions of your choice.
