I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 3 years of experience. I attended graduate school at Duke University School of Nursing. I have special interests in Spravato, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and Addiction but enjoy working with all kinds of people. I am direct but caring and want you to be your true self during sessions. My goal is to help you make decisions about your care that resonate with you and fit into your life without becoming a burden.
I am a provider that really wants to get to know you. I want to hear about your experiences, the important people in your life and what you are looking forward to. You are the expert on yourself and I will allow you to make the decisions but I might challenge you along the way to look at things differently or to break patterns that keep you stuck. You will know I care about you but I will be direct when I think that there is something you need to hear. I am human and at times will need a moment to think about the best course of action but taking this time keeps you safe and that will always be my priority.
At our first session I will ask you to talk about your history as well as goals for the future. I will allow you to get to know me and share as much about your life as you are comfortable for a first meeting with the hope that we are a good match and you will share more along the way. I may not start a medication at the first visit if the direction is not clear but I will share my initials thoughts and together we will start to develop a plan for a path forward. It may seem like there are a lot of questions but having certain information helps me understand your needs and desires for moving beyond where you are right now.
