Great to meet you!

I work individually with men and women faced with individual issues and relationship problems. I also specialize in couple's counseling, where we can realize how our 'stuff' impacts the quality of our relationships. My clients appreciate my engagement, honesty, and authenticity in our work together. I strive to understand what it's like to 'walk in your shoes' which helps me counsel more effectively. I consider counseling a team effort!

My approach to therapy

Relationships are an important part of the foundation of our lives, both the relationship we have with ourselves, and the relationship we have with others. The relationship we have with ourselves can be challenged by internal conflict, feelings of being stuck, and fears that stops us, causing our lives to be unsatisfying. Since we 'live' in all 3 time periods, the past, present, and future, we want to make sure that our past 'stories' are not interfering in our present lives. And then by understanding what our fears are, we can have a better view of the future. Overall, we can become more present. Secondly, the relationship we have with others is influenced by how we're doing, so getting our own 'house' in order will help us be better in relationship! We can experience less defensiveness and more openness. Counseling is a unique opportunity to reconnect with ourselves and others. It's an opportunity to pay attention to parts of ourselves that we try to ignore. It's also an opportunity to have the life that you want and

What you can expect from me

I understand that it takes a lot of courage and motivation to begin counseling and talk about yourself. But it's actually the best conversation we can have to understand what's getting in the way.

Our first session is a chance for you to share what brings you to counseling so I can better understand what your challenges are, and us to begin to build a trusting relationship where you feel safe and comfortable.
