Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Sharon Cleveland! I am a Colorado licensed professional counselor with a Master of Arts degree in counseling and a minor in visual arts from the University of Northern Colorado. I would love to connect with you and help you along your personal journey.

Do you experience worry about the future, regret about the past, or difficulty staying mindful in the present? Are you tired of making resolutions to change but still find yourself stuck? Do you struggle to complete tasks or organize your life in ways that work for you? I can help you with a number of life issues including mood disorders, anxieties, and neurodivergent issues along with a number of other difficulties that can bring one into therapy. Therapy can be a safe and supportive place to process your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and struggles to gain more self-awareness and insight into making the lasting changes that bring you peace of mind. In my free time I enjoy being a mom and grandma. I also identify myself as a neurodivergent and like to express myself through creative arts.

My approach to therapy

With over 27 years of experience working in the mental health field and 17 years of being a licensed counselor, I have enjoyed working with the highly sensitive person (HSP) and neurodiverse population, assisting them to connect with their inner wise-selves and learning alternative ways of communicating and connecting with others.

I integrate a combination of skills from biofeedback & mind-body connection, psychoeducation, self-knowledge, self-trust, communication, positive choice making, and effective coping skills to assist in finding one's true self. One of my main focuses is gaining a trusting relationship with my clients partially through Person-Centered Therapy. I will meet you where you are and work to gain your trust. I also use evidenced based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT to help clients recognize their own thought patterns and how to monitor their thoughts and successfully incorporate cognitive reframing.

What you can expect from me

It's been a pleasure for me to watch individuals turn their struggles into empowerment by implementing a variety of treatments and skills in a caring environment. Through a caring connection and environment, you can expect to feel safe and listened to from the very start.
