Sharon Emerson

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience providing counseling to individuals, couples, and families in New York State. I have a unique background in the medical field, home education, nutrition, and addictions through my work in hospitals, nursing homes, hospice, home-based care, education, addiction treatment programs, medical offices, and private practice. I am a dedicated professional and proud alumna of the University at Albany.

I approach my work from a strengths-based perspective using DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), inner child work, RRP, 12-step modality, and nutritional support. My commitment is to enhance my client's quality of life both physically and emotionally.

I am kind and compassionate while also being a strong advocate for my clients and my profession. I combine my knowledge and expertise to assist clients in achieving a sense of physical and emotional well-being through an eclectic approach of mindfulness, self-awareness, and integration.
