Great to meet you!

My name is Sharon Nix. I value growth and love to see others grow. My desire to make a difference in others' lives led me to pursue an undergraduate degree in Mental Health and Human Services. In 2016, I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University.

In addition to an internship in eating disorders, I have counseled groups and also counseled many individuals and couples. My own struggles make me human and increase my ability to connect with you.

My approach to therapy

I am currently training to be certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). DBT is very structured and encourages the use skills to help with emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. I integrate other therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, and interpersonal therapy into my practice.

What you can expect from me

Clients will become more aware of the connections between emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Clients will get a warm environment that will instill hope that helps them to feel they can trust me early in the course of treatment. Clients will grow and feel more empowered to approach their daily lives with increased confidence.
