Great to meet you!

Hi. My name is Dr. Sharon Walker. I'm a licensed psychologist with over 30 years experience. My basic therapeutic approach is client-centered, focusing on the client's needs and goals.

Throughout a long career, I have worked with many of the problems that block people's effectiveness and happiness.

I have a BA from Baylor and taught as a math teacher at a middle school. I have an M.Ed. in guidance and counseling from Sam Houston State and a PhD in counseling psychology from Texas A&M.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I want to create a therapeutic environment where the client feels accepted as they are and that it is a safe place where they can explore their deeper selves. I view counseling as a collaboration between the therapist and the client to help the client create a more satisfying life. I facilitate clients' better understanding of underlying emotional issues and encourage explorations of options for needed changes to make their lives more meaningful.

What you can expect from our first session

My goal is for clients to gain a better understanding of themselves and gain confidence and skills in making changes that will improve their lives.
