Great to meet you!

I have been a therapist for over 30 years and recently retired after 17 years with the Veterans Administration. Before that, I worked for many years in Community Mental Health. These experiences have allowed me to support people from many different backgrounds and with a wide range of concerns. I am happiest working with a diverse population and value the opportunity to meet each client with respect, compassion, and an open mind.

My approach to therapy

I have always used a humanistic approach, which means I see each client as a whole person and work to understand their individual experiences. I align myself with my clients’ goals and support them in identifying meaningful steps forward. I use motivational interviewing techniques and am also skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, drawing from both approaches to help clients build insight, confidence, and practical coping skills.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I will focus on establishing a comfortable and trusting therapeutic relationship. We will begin getting to know one another and exploring what brings you to therapy, as well as the goals you hope to work toward. I will listen carefully to your concerns, answer questions about the process, and collaborate with you on a direction for treatment that feels supportive, respectful, and realistic.
