Great to meet you!

I’m Shawn, a licensed social worker dedicated to supporting individuals through challenges that impact their well‐being and overall success. I hold a BS in Sociology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, an MSW from Louisiana State University, and I am currently completing my PhD in Social Work at Alabama A&M University. My areas of specialization include trauma‐informed intervention, crisis response, behavioral and emotional support, family engagement, and advocacy for youth involved in alternative education or juvenile justice systems.

My approach to therapy

I work with clients through a relationship‐centered, trauma‐informed approach that prioritizes safety, trust, and collaboration. My style is calm, supportive, and structured, helping people feel understood while guiding them toward practical skills that strengthen resilience and self‐awareness. Above all, I aim to create a space where clients feel seen, valued, and empowered to move toward positive change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, clients can expect a calm, welcoming environment where we focus on building trust and understanding their unique experiences. I spend time learning about what brings them in, what challenges they’re facing, and what strengths they already possess. Together, we identify initial goals—whether that’s improving coping skills, navigating school or family stressors, or addressing trauma‐related concerns.
