Great to meet you!

Hi, I am Shawn Perrigo. As a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a Master of Social Work (MSW), I uniquely blend clinical expertise with a deep understanding of human behavior. With a participatory and empowering approach, I foster an affirming, open-minded, and solution-oriented therapeutic space. By integrating mental health care with a holistic perspective, I guide individuals toward sustainable wellness, ensuring every step is collaborative and meaningful.

My approach to therapy

1. Participatory & Collaborative Care

  • Engage clients as active partners in their mental health journey.

2. Empowering & Strength-Based Perspective

  • Focus on clients' inherent strengths and resilience rather than deficits

3. Solution-Oriented & Evidence-Based Interventions

  • Utilize a combination of psychotherapy, medication management, and lifestyle interventions tailored to each client’s needs.

4. Affirming & Inclusive Environment

  • Cultivate a nonjudgmental and culturally responsive space where clients feel seen, heard, and validated.

5. Open-Minded & Holistic Perspective

  • Recognize the interconnectedness of mental, emotional, and physical health in achieving overall well-being.

This integrated approach ensures that individuals receive comprehensive, compassionate, and sustainable mental health care, empowering them to thrive.

What you can expect from me

When you leave a session with me, my goal is for you to feel empowered and in control of your mental health journey. Together, we’ll explore practical, solution-oriented strategies that fit your unique needs—whether through therapy techniques, lifestyle adjustments, or medication management.

I take a strength-based approach, meaning we won’t just focus on challenges—we’ll also highlight your resilience and capabilities. You’ll always be met with affirmation and validation, ensuring you feel heard, respected, and understood in a non-judgmental, inclusive space.

Mental health is deeply connected to overall well-being, so I incorporate holistic insights into our work, helping you understand how your mind, body, and environment all play a role in sustainable wellness. Every session is a collaborative effort, giving you a clear sense of your goals and next steps while making sure you remain an active partner in your care.

Most importantly, I want you to leave feeling a renewed sense of hope—knowing that change is possible and that you have the support you need to move forward.
