Shawn Tyras

Welcome! I am Shawn "Suzzanne" Tyras and I have a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University (2014) and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina, Maine and California. After graduating, I began my career in a community Mental Health Clinic, as well as telehealth for private clients nine years ago.

I have been formally trained in EMDR Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and DBT. I find these therapies very helpful depending on your the needs.

My therapeutic style involves helping you to arrive at insight, strategies, and tools that you can begin using immediately to make positive changes in your life. I provide concrete tools wherever possible and help you to have a plan for the following days. I will be there to guide you, encourage you, possibly even challenge you if I feel you are unknowingly allowing obstacles to stand in your way. I want to walk beside you where ever you are at this time and help you reach your goals.

I offer a calm, nonjudgmental and welcoming environment in order to build a trusting relationship. This will give you the confidence in therapy to share your needs.

Therapy is about you and you decide what the priority is for goals that we set together and begin moving forward to help you meet each goal one at a time.
