Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome. I’m Shawna Maher, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, youth, and families through complex life transitions, trauma, and systemic challenges.

My practice is rooted in trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. I have a deep understanding of intergenerational trauma, community-based healing, and the importance of honoring identity, culture, and lived experience in the therapeutic process. Much of my work has centered around serving Native and Indigenous communities, as well as those impacted by structural inequities.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, family stress, or simply feeling stuck, I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where your story is heard and your strengths are recognized.

My approach to therapy

I integrate evidence-based modalities such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Narrative and Strengths-Based Therapy
  • Mindfulness and Somatic Awareness
  • Trauma-informed frameworks
  • Culturally-centered and social justice-oriented care

Our work together will be collaborative. I’ll support you in exploring what's getting in the way of your wellness while identifying tools that actually work for you- not just in theory, but in real life.

What you can expect from me

My clients describe me as grounding, authentic, and compassionate. I believe healing isn’t linear, and that connection, laughter, and honesty are essential parts of the journey. We'll set clear goals, move at your pace, and adjust our approach based on what’s most helpful for you.
