Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Shawna, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) and certified Daring WayTM facilitator.

My approach is deeply relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in the belief that healing happens in safe, attuned connection.

I hold a Master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy and have over a decade of experience working with individuals, couples, and families navigating complex emotional terrain. My practice centers those who’ve experienced emotional neglect, attachment wounds, betrayal trauma, and patterns of chronic people-pleasing or over-functioning. I also support clients working through major life transitions, grief, and identity shifts — especially those reclaiming their voice after long seasons of being silenced.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is relational, intuitive, and trauma-informed. I help clients reconnect with themselves by slowing down, noticing patterns, and creating space for healing at the nervous system level. I draw from somatic and parts work (like IFS), attachment theory, and lived experience. I don't pathologize I help you understand your adaptations, reclaim your voice, and find more ease in your body and relationships.

What you can expect from me

You can expect the first session to feel like a conversation, not an interrogation.

It’s a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out. We’ll start by exploring what brought you in, what you’re hoping for, and what’s been heavy on your heart or mind. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your story, patterns, and goals — but we’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

There’s no pressure to “perform” or say the right thing. Whether you come in with a flood of words or aren’t sure where to begin, I’ll meet you where you are. My goal is to help you feel emotionally safe, seen, and supported — even if you’ve never had that before in a therapeutic space.

I may also offer a few reflections, themes I notice, or body-based questions (like where you feel certain emotions), but everything is invitational. We’re building a collaborative relationship — not just working through symptoms, but helping you feel more connected to your

self.
