Great to meet you!

My name is Shea, it's great to meet you! In the decade or so I've been a counselor I've specialized in working with adults who have survived trauma, live with chronic illness or disability, and neurodivergent adults, such as people living with ADHD and/or Autism. My approach is rooted in creating a safe, affirming space for people of all backgrounds—especially for members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community—and I am committed to providing ongoing gender-affirming care.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My practice is distinct in its focus on adapting trauma modalities such as EMDR to fit the individual—not the other way around. I am passionate about this work because I believe everyone deserves the chance to heal, grow, and thrive.

What you can expect from our first session

Often I open sessions by asking how you've been since we last met. My goal each session is to provide you a comfortable space to pause and reflect on your journey, strengths, and needs. To paraphrase bell hooks, healing happens through telling our story and through gathering together all of the skills and resources available to us. My hope is to provide space for your story to be heard and for new skills to be built.
