Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Sheena Diaz, a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, women, and families as a therapist, teacher, and school counselor. My background in education gives me a deep understanding of the academic, social, emotional, and family pressures that adolescents and teens often face. I specialize in anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, identity development, women’s mental health, and perinatal concerns, including pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, infertility, pregnancy loss, difficult birth experiences, and NICU transitions. I am especially passionate about supporting adolescent girls, women, and mothers as they move through meaningful and sometimes painful life changes. My goal is to provide care that feels compassionate, culturally responsive, and grounded in each client’s individual story.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, holistic, and tailored to the needs of each client. I believe healing involves the mind, body, relationships, and sense of self, so I look beyond symptoms to understand the whole person and the experiences shaping their concerns. Along with evidence-based talk therapy, I may incorporate expressive arts, mindfulness, somatic awareness, creative reflection, and play-based techniques when words alone do not feel sufficient. I help clients recognize patterns, build practical coping skills, strengthen self-trust, and develop healthier ways of responding to stress and difficult emotions. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all; we will work together to identify approaches that feel authentic, useful, and supportive of your goals.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is simply a chance for us to get to know one another in a warm, welcoming, and judgment free space. You do not have to have the right words, all the answers, or everything figured out. Just come as you are. Whether you are holding a sleeping baby, wiping away tears, laughing through the awkwardness, or unsure where to begin, you are welcome here. We will spend time exploring what brought you to therapy, what you hope for, and begin creating a plan that feels supportive, meaningful, and uniquely yours.
