Great to meet you!

Feeling “stuck” about how to move forward in your life is a common, painful experience when struggling with depression, anxiety and a host of other life stressors. I am licensed in NY and CT and have 20 years of experience working with a wide range of clients, including many young adults. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Barnard College. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus.

New Clients: A brief phone consultation is required prior to scheduling a first appointment. Please message me to arrange a time for us to speak before scheduling an initial session. I look forward to connecting with you.

My approach to therapy

A positive, productive therapy experience requires strong trust, openness and commitment. The therapy space is free judgment and conducive to self-expression. My style is warm, interactive, flexible and collaborative so that the uniqueness of one's life experience can be honored. While I have been trained primarily in psychodynamic (insight-oriented) therapy, I incorporate other techniques (such as cognitive behavioral therapy or mindfulness) when appropriate.

What you can expect from me

Therapy should leave the client feeling understood, empowered, confident and hopeful for the future. The development of a deepened self-awareness is key as is the capacity to make choices consistent with needs and goals. Clients can shed ways of thinking, feeling and behaving that no longer serve them. They can build satisfying relationships, end to self-defeating behaviors and better manage life stressors. They will possess the tools that they need to make lasting changes in their lives.
