Great to meet you!

Sheila Jourdain is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who specializes in treating adults with a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, depression, pre-pregnancy and postpartum concerns, and female sexual health issues. She also provides medication management, including support for individuals who are considering safely discontinuing psychiatric medications.

Sheila is excited to offer innovative services such as in-office Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a non-medication treatment for depression, as well as virtual ADHD assessments for individuals throughout Delaware. She is known for being down-to-earth, approachable, and nonjudgmental, creating a space where clients feel comfortable exploring their mental health and treatment options.

My approach to therapy

Sheila’s approach is patient-centered, supportive, and collaborative. She combines medication management with motivational talk psychotherapy to help clients better understand their diagnosis and make informed decisions about their care.

She works closely with each client to explore the best treatment options, whether that includes medication, alternative treatments like TMS, or guidance on tapering medications safely. Her goal is to empower clients with knowledge, support, and practical strategies so they can take an active role in their mental health journey.

What you can expect from me

Initial consultations are conducted by our intake team rather than directly with a provider to ensure faster scheduling. During this brief call, our administrative staff will answer general (non-clinical) questions, collect basic information, and help match you with the most appropriate provider.

While you may request a specific provider, pre-appointment consultation calls with clinicians are not available. All clinical discussions, recommendations, and treatment planning will take place during your scheduled appointment.

This process allows us to prioritize direct patient care while offering timely access to services.

During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, responsive, and judgment-free environment. Sheila takes the time to listen to your concerns, understand your history, and discuss your goals for treatment.

This session is an opportunity to ask questions, explore available treatment options, and begin developing a plan that aligns with your needs. Clients can expect clear communication, timely follow-up, and a provider who is committed to being accessible and responsive throughout the process.
