Sheila Levine MA, LMFT (Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist), LDAC, received an MA in Psychology and a second Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University and is a Licensed Alcohol/Drug counselor.

Sheila’s area of specialty is with adolescents, with over 30 years’ experience. She specializes in anxiety/depression, substance abuse, behavioral and academic issues. Another area of clinical interest is working with LGBTQ issues for both adolescents and adults.

Sheila is well versed in the community resources that can be helpful to her clients. She is chairperson of a 12 region Drug Free Schools committee that serves our local school districts with prevention education and activities for our youth. She also is on the Board of Directions for Western Connecticut Coalition, a community organization whose mission is substance abuse prevention.

In Sheila’ s leisure time you can find her enjoying the outdoors, hiking, playing tennis or relaxing at the ocean.

My approach to therapy

My work focuses on the here and now- what brings a client to therapy. I focus on solutions and helping clients understand how their belief systems can help or hinder their successes. The primary modalities I use are CBT, DBT, and brief solution focuses treatment
