Great to meet you!

You don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. Change is possible, and together we can create a path toward greater clarity, confidence, and emotional well-being. I'm Sheila J. Bellefleur-Stauffer, a Professional Counselor with a PhD in Psychology. As someone with an INFJ personality, I bring warmth, compassion, and genuine dedication to every therapeutic relationship. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, relationship struggles, grief, life transitions, ADHD, autism, anger, parenting concerns, career stress, or challenges related to identity, neurodevelopment, or everyday life, you'll find a supportive space where you're heard without judgment. I also provide trauma-informed care, substance use treatment, and psychoeducation on nutrition, sleep, and other health factors that influence emotional wellness. I look forward to meeting you where you are—and helping you get to where you want to be.

My approach to therapy

You deserve an approach that recognizes your unique experiences and strengths rather than a one-size-fits-all solution. Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and practical, blending evidence-based interventions with genuine human connection. Together, we'll build effective coping skills, increase self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. I support individuals navigating addiction, dual diagnosis, anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities, behavioral concerns, family and relationship conflict, marital and premarital issues, spirituality, women's issues, career challenges, personality disorders, grief, and major life transitions. My goal is to help you understand not only what you're experiencing, but also why—so you can move forward with confidence.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity to be heard, understood, and supported. You'll have the space to share what brings you to therapy at your own pace while we explore your goals, discuss what's been getting in the way, and identify practical next steps that fit your needs. You'll leave with a clearer understanding of how we can work together and a plan that feels realistic, empowering, and tailored to your life. My hope is that you'll finish your first session feeling seen, encouraged, and confident that positive change is within reach.
