Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Shelby! If you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in the pressure to always do more, therapy can be a place to slow down and take care of yourself, too. I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely understood, supported, and comfortable being yourself. My intention is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you don't have to have everything figured out. We'll make sense of what you're experiencing together and find practical ways to help you feel more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself. I especially enjoy working with women experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, burnout, caregiving stress, relationship challenges, or major life transitions. I also support women and men navigating infertility, pregnancy and parenthood, cancer, chronic illness, health anxiety, caregiving, and professional burnout. I have a particular interest in working with healthcare and education professionals. When you spend your days caring for, teaching, or helping others, it can be difficult to make room for your own needs. You may be used to being the dependable one or the person everyone turns to. Therapy can be a place where you don't have to be that person for a while.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in your unique experiences. Together, we’ll explore what may be contributing to stress, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, or difficult life transitions. We’ll work to understand patterns, process emotions, and develop practical tools that fit into your everyday life. My goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself, build resilience, and create meaningful, sustainable changes that support your overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin creating a comfortable, trusting space for therapy. We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and how things may be affecting your day-to-day life. We’ll also begin identifying what you hope to gain from therapy and how I can best support you. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and you don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. We’ll take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you’ll have space to share what feels important. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the work ahead.
