Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Shelby and firstly, I'm so proud of you for taking steps towards therapy. I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, and prefer to work with with individuals. I graduated from Whitworth University's MA in Marriage and Family Therapy program in 2021. I have extensive experience providing telehealth services, enabling me to build rapport and deliver effective, compassionate care virtually.

My experience lies in a variety of treatment settings, including community behavioral health, primary care, and more. I have experience working with adults, children, couples, and families across diverse populations to address concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, identity, and personal growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I draw from attachment-based, narrative, and evidence-based approaches to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and navigate life's challenges. My primary goal in therapy is to foster a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported in making meaningful changes in their lives. I will work with each client to identify their goals for therapy based on their unique needs and experiences.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I want to hear about what brings you to therapy. Some people know exactly what they want to get out of therapy, and others don't yet know, and that is okay! We will work together to get to know one another, explore your goals and concerns, and begin developing a treatment plan that feels right for you. My greatest hope is to help you feel heard, understood, and gain direction for where you would like to head in life.
