Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Shelby Stewart a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 15 years of experience in the Mental Health field since my undergrad years at Chico State. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco and specialize in anxiety, trauma, and depression.

I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of individuals and creating meaningful connections through a collaborative approach. I pride myself on building solid rapport with clients, ensuring a safe and inclusive space where all voices are heard and valued. I am grounded in being open-minded, warm, and empowering, allowing clients to feel supported and understood as they navigate their journeys. I prioritize your goals and needs, making sure you feel heard and understood. Whether you’re facing challenges in your personal life or seeking personal growth, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and respect.

A bit about my approach to therapy

As a therapist, I draw from a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, tailoring my approach to fit each individual’s unique needs. My work incorporates Attachment-based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Humanistic principles to foster self-awareness and emotional growth. I also integrate Narrative Therapy to help clients reshape their personal stories, Psychodynamic insights to explore past experiences, and Relational Therapy to understand the dynamics of relationships. Additionally, I emphasize a Strength-Based approach, helping clients recognize and build upon their inherent resilience. By blending these methods, I aim to create a holistic and supportive environment for healing and transformation.

What you can expect from our first session

In our sessions, you can expect to gain deeper insights into your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, with a focus on understanding the root causes of your challenges. Through a blend of therapeutic approaches, you'll develop practical tools for managing stress, building healthier relationships, and cultivating personal resilience. As we work together, you’ll feel supported and empowered to rewrite your narrative, explore your emotional landscape, and tap into your inner strengths for lasting change and growth.
