Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Shella Beauzil, I am licensed in CT as LCSW and MA as an LICSW. I specialize in supporting adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxious thoughts, self-doubt, chronic stress, or the challenges that arise during shifts in identity and life roles. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin to explore healthier ways of coping and moving forward.

My approach is collaborative and evidence-based. I integrate Mindfulness to help you become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judgment, allowing you to respond to life's challenges with greater calm, clarity, and intention rather than reacting automatically, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help uncover and process the experiences that may be keeping your nervous system in a constant state of overwhelm. These tools work together to build resilience, emotional balance, and self-compassion, helping you create meaningful and lasting change in your life.

The impact of therapy can be transformative. Clients often leave with greater peace of mind, stronger self-awareness, and renewed hope for the future. It’s an honor to walk alongside you in this process and support you in creating the life you want.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. I believe that healing happens when clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. I tailor treatment to each person's unique experiences, goals, and values, recognizing that no two healing journeys are the same.

I integrate evidence-based approaches including EMDR, mindfulness, somatic techniques, cognitive behavioral strategies, and attachment-informed care to help clients develop self awareness between their thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and life experiences. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, I help clients develop insight, build resilience, feel supported, regulate their nervous system, and create lasting change.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, life transitions, cancer or other medical challenges, or feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to foster healing, restore balance, and help you move forward with greater confidence and purpose.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a comfortable, welcoming space where the focus is on getting to know you. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, your background, and what you’d like to get out of our time together. It’s completely normal to feel nervous or unsure—starting something new can feel vulnerable—so we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.

I’ll ask some gentle questions to better understand your experiences, but there’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready for. This first session is really about beginning to build a connection and laying the foundation for our work together.

Most importantly, you can expect to be listened to with care, without judgment. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful that therapy can be a safe place to help you move forward.
