Great to meet you!

My name is Shelley Eisenberg, Psy.D. (she/her) and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who earned my B.A. in Psychology and Sexuality & Gender Studies from The Pennsylvania State University and my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

I strive to create a supportive, collaborative, space where clients can learn to navigate life’s challenges with compassion and care. My work is trauma-informed and attentive to both client humanity and the impact of oppressive systems. I have trained in college counseling, inpatient psychiatric, LGBTQ+ community mental health, and private practice settings and have experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and substance misuse.

My approach to therapy

My clinical passions include helping clients explore relationships, identity, neurodivergence, grief, and substance use concerns. I affirm diverse sexualities, genders, and relationship structures, while drawing from relational, attachment-based, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll start by getting to know one another and creating a space that feels comfortable, respectful, and collaborative. I’ll invite you to share what’s bringing you to therapy now, along with any relevant background that feels important to you. We’ll talk about your goals and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, so our work together can be intentional and aligned with your needs.

I’ll also ask about any prior therapy experiences (what felt helpful and what didn’t) so I can tailor my approach in a way that feels supportive and effective for you. Throughout the session, you’re welcome to ask questions and get a sense of my style to determine whether I’m the right fit. If it feels like a good match, we’ll talk about what treatment may look like moving forward and make a plan for next steps.
