Great to meet you!

Life's challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, grief, or the transitions that come with different stages of life. You don't have to navigate these experiences alone. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to move toward meaningful change from an eclectic evidenced based approach that promotes hope, stability, and wellness, including faith-based perspective.

I specialize in working with adults and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, intimate relationship conflict, and couples counseling.I believes my purpose is to assist individuals to live life healthy and with hope.

I have extensive experience with substance abuse, holding a previous Certified Alcohol Drug Certificate (CADC) in Illinois, previous certification as an Emergency Services Prescreener with mental health, certified as a Clinical Trauma Professional, trained in level 2 of the Gottman Couples Method, experienced with anxiety, depression, grief & loss, and intimate relationship conflict. I received an outstanding excellent therapy award in 2021 and am committed to lives being changed. I am inspired daily by my husband, two adult children, and in love with my five grandchildren. In my spare time I love exercising, running miles, and reading educational/spiritual literature to keep myself sharp to assist others in sharpen themselves.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is client-centered, recognizing that you are a unique individual with your own experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we will create a personalized treatment plan that reflects your specific needs and supports your progress throughout the therapeutic process. I am passionate about helping people build healthier, more fulfilling lives. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience hope, healing, and wellness, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they pursue meaningful growth and improved emotional well-being.

What you can expect from me

During your first few sessions, you can expect to be welcomed with compassion, respect, and genuine curiosity about your unique experiences. We will spend time getting to know one another, exploring the concerns that brought you to therapy, discussing your personal history, identifying your strengths, and clarifying the goals you hope to achieve. Together, we will develop a personalized treatment plan and begin identifying practical strategies and coping skills that support your emotional well-being and help you move forward with confidence and hope.

My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, and I encourage open communication, questions, and feedback throughout the process. You will be heard with empathy, treated with dignity and respect, and supported as we work together through life's challenges. Each session is confidential within the limits of the law, allowing you the opportunity to speak openly and honestly as we build a trusting therapeutic relationship.
