Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Shelley Sims, LMFT.

I believe healing happens when people feel truly seen, understood, and accepted. My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.

I work with adults, teens, and couples who are navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship challenges, ADHD, OCD, burnout, life transitions, and low self-worth. Many of my clients have spent years putting everyone else first and are ready to reconnect with themselves, set healthier boundaries, and build lives that feel more peaceful and fulfilling.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from evidence-based therapies including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and somatic, nervous system-informed techniques. Together, we'll identify unhelpful patterns, process painful experiences, and develop practical skills that create lasting change.

Whether you're healing from childhood wounds, working through relationship struggles, managing overwhelming emotions, or simply feeling stuck, you don't have to do it alone. I believe growth is possible at any stage of life, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you rediscover your strengths and move toward the life you want.

Taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to have it all figured out before reaching out. If you're ready to begin your healing journey, I'd love to help.

My approach to therapy

I aim to create a safe, consistent, and non-judgmental space for loving yourself as you move toward healing. I approach therapy as a partnership, working collaboratively Using EMDR, CBT, Experiential Therapy, & IFS. I am a creative therapist, that empowers lifts and will work with you as you heal.

My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, respect, and collaboration. I tailor my methods to fit your unique needs and experiences, drawing on evidence-based practices to support your healing journey. I value the therapeutic relationship and work to build trust and rapport, ensuring that you feel comfortable and supported every step of the way. Whether you are navigating trauma, life transitions, or everyday stressors, I am here to walk alongside you and help you achieve your goals.

What you can expect from me

Whether you're a couple stuck in miscommunication, a teen navigating chaos, or someone battling intrusive memories, you don’t have to do this alone. You were never broken—therapy is about uncovering your strength, healing wounds, & finding peace. Let’s embark on this transformative journey together, fostering growth, resilience, & a renewed sense of self.

During our first session together, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental environment where we will get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. I will take the time to understand your background, strengths, and challenges, and together we will begin to identify your goals for our work. My aim is for you to leave the session feeling hopeful, supported, and with a clear sense of the next steps in your therapeutic journey.
