Great to meet you!

Shelley Strojny, NP, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner who provides thoughtful, patient‐centered medication management for children, adolescents and adults. She has experience treating mood and anxiety disorders, trauma‐related conditions, and other complex mental health concerns, with an emphasis on safety, education, and realistic goal‐setting.

Shelley’s approach is relational and collaborative: she listens carefully, explains options in plain language, and works with patients to find the simplest, most effective treatment plan possible. As part of the Empower Mental Health and Wellness Clinic team, she coordinates closely with therapists and Dr. Saul so that psychiatric care aligns with each patient’s therapy, values, and broader wellness goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is warm, collaborative, and deeply patient‐centered. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I see our work together as a partnership: you bring your lived experience and values, and I bring clinical expertise, curiosity, and a commitment to finding what truly helps you feel better.

In our visits, I take time to listen carefully, explain options in clear language, and involve you in each decision about medications and other supports. I pay close attention to how your mind and body are connected, and I prioritize safety, simplicity, and treatments that fit your real life.

Many of my patients come to me feeling overwhelmed or discouraged; my goal is that you leave our appointments feeling understood, more hopeful, and with a concrete plan for next steps. Over time, we continually refine that plan together so that your care evolves with you, not the other way around.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a collaborative first session that is structured, thoughtful, and focused on understanding what is actually happening in their day‐to‐day life. Shelley will ask about what prompted you to seek help now, your current symptoms, previous treatment experiences, medical history, and what you hope will feel different going forward.

She will also review safety, clarify any urgent concerns, and talk through potential options such as medication, labs or monitoring, and therapy or lifestyle supports. By the end of the visit, you can expect a clear, realistic starting plan and a sense of what follow‐up will look like, without pressure to decide anything you are not ready for.
